Since
1968, Presidential Classroom Programs have given America's and the
world's most promising high school students the opportunity to spend
a week in Washington, D.C. Participants observe the federal government
at work, witness the development of public policy
and explore the roles of citizens, lawmakers, experts, associations
and businesses in the world's most successful democracy. Presidential
Classroom takes students behind the scenes of America's capital for
seminars and discussions on international relations
and diplomacy featuring members of Congress, Presidential appointees,
international journalists and other Washington insiders and names
in the news. Future World Leaders Summit
is the only program open to students from around the world to learn
of international relations, diplomacy and the structure of a democratic
government. Beyond learning Future World Leaders Summit challenges
the participants to find ways to answer President John F. Kennedy's
call for public and community service made more than thirty years
ago:
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for
your country."
